NEW YORK, NEW YORK – (October 11, 2022) – P.A.’L.A.N.T.E. Harlem, Inc. will celebrate its 13th year
anniversary gala on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 7 PM. The P.A.’L.A.N.T.E. Keep on Moving Annual Gala will
be held at Marina del Rey in Bronx, NY. This year’s theme is Keep on Moving because we, as New Yorkers, cannot
allow the current economic conditions and the effects of the pandemic to prevent us from enjoying and celebrating
life.

D.A. Bragg Announces Creation of the Office’s First Housing & Tenant Protection Unit

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the creation of the Office’s first-ever Housing & Tenant Protection Unit, which will target systemic criminal harassment of tenants and abuse of government programs by landlords and developers. Areas of focus will be harassment of rent-regulated tenants, deed fraud and defrauding of government subsidy programs by landlords and developers. This is the first time the Office will have a unit chief and cross-designated Assistant District Attorneys specifically assigned to housing matters.

P.A.’L.A.N.T.E. HARLEM URGE NYC COUNCIL TO OPPOSE CONVERSION OF 34 MORNINGSIDE IN NYC

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – (May 9, 2022) – P.A.’L.A.N.T.E. Harlem, along with local residents, community leaders and local elected officials, join forces to urge New York City Council to stop the conversion of 34 Morningside Ave in Harlem. NYC Council Members are expected to take a vote at a virtual public hearing, which will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 10 AM.

Roommates displaced by fire find better home thanks to Manhattan housing group

Roommates Richard Peralta, 19, and Nelson Claure, 48, only had the shirts on their backs when a Nov. 17 fire tore through their W. 144th St. building. The two were subleasing a room from a tenant in a rent-regulated three-bedroom apartment, but by the time firefighters put out the last lick of flames, they were searching for a place to stay.
